With Starlink now operating in Fiji, founder and CEO Elon Musk plans to stop over in Fiji in October on his way to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.
This has been confirmed by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka who says this visit is a key opportunity to strengthen partnerships that can benefit all Fijians.
Rabuka says this initiative will boost connectivity and support essential services, especially during natural disasters.
Rabuka says with Fiji leading the way, this could set a strong example for the entire region.
He says President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has welcomed Musk’s plans to expand Starlink’s high-speed internet to remote areas of Fiji.
Rabuka adds Ratu Wiliame sees this as a major step forward in bringing modern technology and opportunities to every corner of Fiji.
