Parliament has been told that investigations into eleven cases of alleged Police brutality are in the process of being completed, awaiting a decision by the DPP or is before the court.
This was highlighted by Minister for Defence and National Security Inia Seruiratu who says these cases are investigated by the Police Internal Affairs Unit.
Seruiratu also says they now need to look at the context at which Police operate.
NFP parliamentarian Pio Tikoduadua then asked if there is a common database with Police and the Fiji Human Rights and Anti Discrimination Commission recording all cases of alleged police brutality.
Seruiratu says this is a project that is a work in progress and it is being taken into consideration.
