Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says as at yesterday, they have had 192,000 voter engagements during the Nationwide Voter Registration Drive after setting a target of 100,000 about 46 days ago.
Saneem says the drive was intended for people in the rural areas and those in hard to reach places and he believes they have achieved that to a significant degree.
Saneem says they will be continuing their efforts to reach out to more Fijians in the coming weeks and will have a fallback session only in the Central Division this Saturday at Tebara Plaza in Nakasi and at Damodar City.
He adds over 21 centres will be open until 9 tonight.
Saneem also confirms over 17,000 new voters have registered and about 30 people have applied to get their names changed on their birth certificate during the drive.
The Supervisor also says they will be starting the school registration drive for secondary school students from next Tuesday.
