Early diagnosis is what can help prevent cancer deaths as this is the biggest NCD issue that Fiji faces today.
This was highlighted by the newly appointed Fiji Cancer Society president Makrava Wilson who is also WOWS Kids Fiji Board Chairman.

Wilson also highlighted that the youngest cancer patient is a 7-month-old baby and the youngest adult cancer patient was a 17-year-old.
Wilson says that there are plans for more awareness drives that will be held simultaneously with screenings and he is also encouraging people to present to their nearest hospitals and health centres for thorough checkups.
He adds that it is a sad situation for families when people are running to the hospitals when their cancer is at an untreatable stage and this makes work hard for the Cancer Society staff to assist them.
Wilson has reiterated that the Fiji Cancer Society will be ready to assist those who may need help with caring for their family members who are fighting cancer.
