Its an early Christmas present for the villagers living in the interior of Sabeto after the completion of the 6.1km road construction from Korobebe to Navilawa village.
A senior villager of Navilawa Ilami Maya says for years horses have been the only form of transportation for the villagers.
He said with the easy access to the village by bus and carrier, villagers have returned to the village with a total of 36 families now living at the village compared to only 18 families that used to live there.
Maya said the only source of income for the villagers is yaqona, cash crop and vegetable farming which the women of the village take to the Nadi and Lautoka market to sell.
He said before the construction of the road transporting their produce on horses would take them up to four hours.
The construction of the road was carried out by the Military Engineers which cost $300,000.
