A drug rehabilitation centre has been running in Lololo, Drasa in Lautoka that provides an opportunity to regenerate hope within reach of every person struggling with an addiction to drugs.
Adults and Teen Challenge Fiji Executive Director, Reverend Hemraj Mangal says currently the rehabilitation centre has a capacity for 12 students at any time and the intake is voluntary but the applicant must demonstrate a real desire to change.
Reverend Mangal says upon obtaining the necessary approval, they plan to build an 80-bed men’s centre and this would be done in four phases.
He says each phase would see the construction of 20-bed dormitory with necessary facilities.
Reverend Mangal also highlighted that as the funds are made available, an 80-bed women and children centre will be added.
He adds this empowerment program will include a Vocational Training Centre that will provide training in the use of electrical power tools, small farm implements, carpentry, joinery works and agriculture-based farming activities.
Reverend Mangal is inviting everyone who has been talking about drug rehabilitation centres to support and join them in this initiative to serve our future generation who are addicted to drugs.
