A number of speakers including a reformed drug addict, Drug-Free World, Ministry of MOMS and the Salvation Army have been confirmed to speak on the National Dialogue on Substance Abuse plenary titled “Substance Abuse – Let’s Talk About It! Finding a Fijian Solution!”.
The national dialogue which is organised by Leadership Fiji in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and National Security will be held at the USP AUSAID Lecture Theatre next Wednesday from 8am.
Those wanting to attend the National Dialogue have to register online through the events page on Leadership Fiji’s website www.leadershipfiji.org in order to gain entry to the venue and to assist the organisers with logistics.
Leadership Fiji CEO, Sharyne Fong says they will finalise other speakers as and when confirmation is received.
The one-day plenary will be in three segments where panellists will speak on their role and the work they are doing in combating this drug problem, followed by questions from the audience.
The panel discussions will be moderated by concerned Leadership Fiji Alumni and will cover speakers from the Community, Health and Education, and Law and Order.
Fong says we must come together as a community to talk about solutions to this drug and substance abuse problem and the objective of this plenary is to create a space where we as a community can come together provide input into national policies and strategies.
