The Fijian Drua will begin their historic inaugural campaign in the Super Rugby Pacific at Eden Park against the Super Rugby Trans Tasman defending champions, the Blues and there are plans to get at least two of their games played in Fiji.
As the draws were released earlier today, Drua Interim CEO Brian Thorburn has told Legend FM News that previously they had said that they will have to play their home games in Australia due to restrictions.
Thorburn says without Fiji’s high vaccination rates, they would not be discussing the possibility of having games in Fiji next year.
He adds that he is in Fiji to talk to the relevant stakeholders to see if they can pull this off.
Thorburn says they are looking at having an Australian and a New Zealand team to play in Fiji.
The Drua will play the Blues on 19th February.
