The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua ended their 2023 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific pre-season match on a high with a 48-38 win over a spirited Western Force side in Queensland last night.
The Drua had a scrappy start with Force scoring the first try taking an early 7-0 in the first spell before Drua started the onslaught replying with a try to prop Jone Tiko and a successful conversion to level the score 7-7.
Drua scored a further 4 tries and Western Force with another converted try for a 29-14 score line at halftime with Drua taking the lead.
The Second half was turned up as the Drua scored a further 19 points including two tries from prop Kaliopasi Uluilakepa.
The Force fought back but the Drua held on to win with a 10 points deficit.
The focus now turns to next week for the Drua when they take on Moana Pasifika in round 1 of the 2023 Super Rugby season.
The Drua will play Moana Pasifika at 3.35pm in Auckland next Saturday.
Meanwhile, the first game of the 2023 Super Rugby season will kick off next Friday with Crusaders taking on Chiefs in Christchurch at 6:05pm.
