The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua have moved up to 7th place in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific points table following their upset 28-24 win over the Chiefs in Lautoka yesterday.
Heading into yesterday’s match, the Drua were in 10th place after 3 consecutive losses in the first 3 rounds of the competition.
A win was crucial for the Drua to keep their hopes alive of making it into the top 8, and they delivered under a wet Churchill Park and in front of a vocal crowd that rallied behind them.
The win has seen them sitting in 7th place with 7 points.
Despite their loss yesterday, the Chiefs continue to top the table with 14 points after securing a bonus point against the Drua.
The Waratahs are in second place with 13 points, while the Reds, the Highlanders, the Brumbies, and the Western Force are all locked with 9 points each.
The Drua will take on the Brumbies next Friday at 8.35pm at GIO Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women will take on the Brumbies Women at 3.35pm next Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
