The Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women will be looking at the field of the position where they want to play and play it right when they take on the Waratahs at home this weekend.
This was highlighted by coach Mosese Rauluni after their 32-21 win over the Reds in the first round of the Super Rugby Women’s competition yesterday.
Rauluni says they need to get their kickers kicking downfield and giving the opposition a hard time to get out of their territory.
He says in their game against the Reds yesterday, the guts and efforts of the girls stuck out, even though they made mistakes and let the Reds back into the game, but they sort of kept the home team out in crucial moments.
As the Drua head back home for their double header clash against the Waratahs this week, Rauluni is calling on fans to come out in numbers to support them in their first home game of the season.
Rauluni also extended the team’s condolences to captain Karalaini Naisewa and her family for their loss in the family.
He says the team received the news of Naiswea losing her sister hours before the game but it did not stop the captain from playing well as she played for her sister and her grieving family with the support of the players.
In other Super Rugby Women's matches over the weekend, the Waratahs thrashed the Brumbies 45-10 and Western Force defeated the Rebels 36-12.
The Drua Women will play the Waratahs at 3.35pm this Saturday at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
