The driver of the vehicle that was allegedly involved in an accident that claimed the life of a man has been arrested.
The accident happened along the Queens Highway near Naboutini in Serua last night.
Police say the driver was arrested from his residence in Matanivusi Settlement in Serua this morning.
The truck which was loaded with sand was heading towards Sigatoka when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle resulting in the accident.
He had fled the scene.
The road death toll currently stands at 45 compared to 59 for the same period last year.
