Dredging works on the 18 kilometers long Waidamu River is expected to start soon bringing relief to nearby villagers that get affected by flooding.

The works were commissioned at Waicoka Village in Tailevu by the Minister for Waterways and Environment, Doctor Mahendra Reddy and Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Ashneel Sudhakar.

Doctor Reddy says there are more than 200 residents in Waicoka Village and the commissioning has brought the villagers a great sense of relief.
