It is a dream come true for 21-year-old, Maria Rokotuisiga of Narokunibua Village, Namosi after her name was announced as a member of the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s to the Hamilton 7s that will be held this weekend.
Rokotuisiga was the thirteenth member of the Fijiana 7s squad at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham last year.
She is hoping to make her debut this weekend, and says she was lucky to be re-called and will give her best in the upcoming World Sevens Series.
The 21-year-old says she started her rugby career with the Striders team and then joined the Suva Under 18 team, before joining the Police team for her future plans.
Rokotuisiga says senior players like captain Rusila Nagasau have been helpful throughout her rugby career, while joining the national team.
Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s will take on Great Britain at 10.22am Saturday, they will face New Zealand at 2.12pm Saturday, before taking on Papua New Guinea at 5.37pm Saturday.
The Women’s quarter finals will start at 8.30am Sunday, the semi finals will begin at 12.20pm Sunday, and the final will be played at 6.26pm Sunday.
