It is a dream come true for the villagers of Nasavu in Deuba as the Government announced the construction of a 7-foot crossing for the village.
75-year-old Nasavu Villager, Seveci Batirerega highlighted that during a heavy downpour the water fills up the drain, it spills over the foot-crossing and sometimes enters their homes.
He says they have been waiting patiently for the past 15 years for a government to aid them and they are thankful to the current government for hearing their cry.
Minister for Waterways and Environment, Dr. Mahendra Reddy says this project will go a long way in improving the quality of livelihood of people in the rural and maritime development areas.
He says they had compiled some new and backlogged list of places where foot-crossing is urgently needed as without it the people are facing a lot of difficulties in not having access to markets and most of the time they struggle getting to school and work.
He says after the completion of these projects, the morale of the people will be boosted and they'll find relief in reaching their destination.
