Despite the rainy weather, the clan members of Dravuni in the village of Lawaki in Kadavu who are living in Suva gathered at My Suva Park to celebrate Christmas.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Ravaele Dakai says Christmas signifies a day of joy and happiness, during which they planned to meet with their relatives, share lunch, and discuss plans for the betterment of future generations.

Dakai says they began planning this gathering in October.

He also also highlighted that children were enjoying the weather by playing and swimming along Nasese Beach, while the youths were busy preparing barbecues.

The 60-year-old says the purpose of the gathering was to strengthen relationships, as many of their children, born in Suva, do not know their relatives.

He adds as we are in the festive season, it is vital to prioritize safety.
