Attempts to get comments from former Minister of Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete regarding the state of the CWM Hospital were unsuccessful after he evaded a media interview after the parliament session today.
fijivillage News has been trying to get a response from Dr Waqainabete about why the state of the country’s major hospital was in a poor state and deteriorating during his time as Minister for Health.
The media was invited on a tour of the country’s major hospital and it is found to be in dire need of repair work with many of the windows and mosquito screens broken, many of the toilets needing plumbing and electrical works done, fans broken, the lifts not working, ceilings in several departments caving in and dysfunctional air conditioning units.
The Medical Superintendent Doctor Luke Nasedra says they have been given the assurance that they are looking at a time frame of three months to fix it.
