Dr. Jiko Luveni meets students of Kalabu Secondary School

Government should make life more comfortable for the youth in the rural and urban areas.

While speaking to the students of Kalabu Secondary School in Nasinu during the ‘Meet the Speaker’ program, Speaker of the House Dr. Jiko Luveni says sending unemployed youth back to the village is not the answer.

Dr. Luveni says students should consider becoming parliamentarians to address some of these issues that the youth face.

She says the youngest parliamentarian in Fiji is only 31 years old but in some parliaments overseas the youngest parliament member would be in their early 20s.

She says young parliamentarians will be the best person to talk about problems among the youth in the country.

The Speaker of the House is expected to be in the Western Division today visiting schools and communities under the ‘Meet the Speaker’ program.
