It is a double celebration for both the NZ 7s Men's and Women's sides after winning both the titles at the HSBC Singapore 7s tonight.
The NZ Men survived a scare from Ireland and secured a narrow 17-14 win while NZ Women defeated Australia Women 31-21.
In the Men's final, NZ held a slight 12-7 lead at halftime after scoring two tries through Leroy Carter and Fehi Fineanganofo in the 1st and 5th minute respectively and one conversion by Andrew Knewstubb.
Ireland scored a converted try at the stroke of halftime through Garry Mullin and a conversion by Harry McNulty to trail 7-12 at the break.
It was a tight contest in the second half but NZ scored one more uncoverted try to Dylan Collier to extend their lead to 17-7 before Ireland scored another converted try at the stroke of fulltime for the final score.
Meanwhile, Fijiana 7s secured a 4th place finish while the Fiji Men's 7s setlled for 9th place in the tournament.
Argentina has been crowned the HSBC Men's SVNS Series winners after securing a 5th place finish at the Singapore 7s defeating South Africa 14-10 tonight.
