Digicel confirm an error led to some ineligible applicants receiving the unemployment assistance

Digicel Fiji has clarified that there was an inadvertent technical error whereby some ineligible applicants received the $360 government unemployment assistance.

Digicel says applications for the scheme was received via the application platform and there was an error while processing and verifying locations of the applicants.

They say disbursements done in error were rolled back and all customers impacted were notified via SMS messages immediately.

Digicel say they realize that this has inconvenienced their valued customers and they sincerely apologize for this error.
