The two mobile service providers in the country Vodafone Fiji and Digicel Fiji say they are both monitoring the situation after Google barred the world's second biggest smartphone maker Huawei from some updates to the Android operating system.
New designs of Huawei smartphones are set to lose access to some Google apps.
The move comes after the US government added Huawei to a list of companies that American firms cannot trade with unless they have a licence.
Google said it was "complying with the order and reviewing the implications".
In a statement to questions by FijiVillage, Vodafone Fiji said they are aware of the current impasse between the USA and Huawei and are closely monitoring developments in that space.
Vodafone Head of mCommerce and Corporate Affairs Shailendra Prasad said at this stage however Huawei products in use by its customers and those in their stock on hand are not affected by the trade impasse.
Prasad says accordingly Vodafone will continue to serve its customers who currently use Huawei products.
He says should there be any further change in developments that may adversely affect their customers, they will make appropriate decision at the time.
When asked about the situation Digicel Fiji said at this point all they are saying is that they are actively monitoring the situation but are not commenting.
