Students of Rakiraki Public High School will enjoy a couple more years of free internet at their computer lab after Digicel Fiji extended its contract.

Digicel Fiji Commercial Director Andrew Skelton said all students at the school will now be able to experience 3G+ superior internet speeds to help them with school work and ways to stay connected on social networks with friends and family.

Skelton said the school which is a Government initiated Telecentre also caters for the general public who use the centre on week day evenings and on the weekends.

RPHS Principal Shelly Imran said there are a lot of people in Rakiraki who cannot afford smart phones or internet at homes but now they get to use free internet at the telecentre.

Imran said the renewal of the free internet deal came as a boost for the Year 13 Computer Science students as they prepare to sit for their external exams this week.

She added to date 406 students over the last four years have benefited from computer classes at the school.
