Digicel Fiji has signed a sponsorship agreement worth $8,000 with Golf Fiji.
Digicel CEO Farid Mohammed says they are all in for sports in the country and are delighted to be a major part of this milestone achievement by Golf Fiji.
Professional golfers will play for a cash prize of $7,500 while amateurs will play for prizes valued at $7,500.
Golf Fiji President Vidhya Lakhan says the 3 day championships will be held at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa from Saturday 31st October to Monday 2nd November.
Lakhan says they want it to be held in Suva since this is where it all started 50 years ago and they are also going to be celebrating Fiji's 50 years of independence.
Lakhan says all those under the age of 18 years who will be participating for the Fiji Junior Golf Championship will have not have to pay entry fees.
