Digicel Fiji Kulas through to the final of OFC Women’s Nations Cup

The Digicel Fiji Kulas outclassed Solomon Islands 3-1 in a physical encounter in the OFC Women’s Nations Cup and secured a spot in the grand final at 7pm this Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium.

The Kulas will play Papua New Guinea who defeated Samoa 3-0 in the first semi-final.

Solomon Islands took the lead after captain Ileen Pegi successfully finished off a penalty.

Three time player of the match, Cema Nasau proved too strong for the Solomons defence as she scored twice in the first 30 minutes to put Fiji up by 2-1.

Fiji led at half time.

Luisa Tamanitoakula scored the only goal in the second half to seal the win for Fiji.

An emotional Nasau says she dedicates the game to her father.

She also thanked all the fans who watched her this evening.

Samoa will take on the Solomon Islands for the third place playoff at 4pm Saturday.
