Derenalagi confident ahead of Sukuna Bowl debut

Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team captain Meli Derenalagi says despite only two weeks of preparation, the Army rugby team is confident of retaining the FMF Sukuna Bowl this Friday.

Derenalagi who will be playing in his first Sukuna Bowl if selected says he was always an Army fan growing up as his uncle played for them.

The 22-year-old is in the Navy.

A number of other household names such as captain Isireli Ledua, Manasa Saulo, Jone Manu and John Stewart are expected to feature for Army.

Army won the Sukuna Bowl last year after beating Police 20-17 at the ANZ Stadium.

The Sukuna Bowl will be played at 4.30pm Friday and you can catch the live commentary on Viti FM
