The Damodar City in Labasa is expected to open in 2 years with plans for the first phase of construction work to begin at the end of this month.
Damodar North Limited and Paul Jaduram Investments Limited, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the development of a four star hotel at Damodar City in Labasa today.
The Northman hotel is expected to have 40 rooms and will provide employment to 50 people during construction and will consist of a workforce of 20 to 25 employees.
Director of Paul Jaduram Investments Limited, Natasha Jaduram says the cost of the hotel is $5 million while Damodar Group of Companies CEO, Div Damodar says the total investment cost will be over $40 million.
Damodar says the construction of Damodar City in Labasa will benefit the people in the northen division as it will provide employment opportunities and also attract businesspeople to Labasa.
