Daily Post to close indefinitely

After twenty one years in operation one of the local newspapers has revealed that they have suspended their operations until further notice.

Editor in Chief of the Fiji Daily Post, Doctor Robert Wolfgramm revealed that all the employees have been sent home until further notice.

He said the newspaper has operated at various times in its past 21 years with between 25 and 75 staff and it is unknown how many will be employed when operations resume.

It is understood that Fiji Daily Post last published in April this year.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the publisher and major share holder, Alan Hickling is currently abroad and is expected to make a decision soon on the future of the newspaper based on the Media Decree requirement of all media outlets to be 90 percent locally owned.
