The Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde has decided that no charges will be laid against government MP, Howard Politini in relation to a complaint of criminal intimidation on 17th May 2018.
The police file was sent to the DPP for an assessment of the evidence and a decision on whether any charges should be laid following a complaint.
The DPP stated that following a review of the police docket and the evidence, it is their opinion that there is insufficient evidence to support criminal charges against Howard Politini.
National Federation Party’s Youth Wing President, Sharveen Chaudhary had filed a police complaint alleging that he was threatened and intimidated by this government MP.
Chaudhary had alleged that the government MP approached him and his colleague in the parliament cark park and was visibly angry, biting down on his lower lip and shouting.
Chaudhary had alleged that the government MP confronted them with regards to certain social media posts that the NFP Youth Wing had made to his reaction and statements to their submission to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence on two treaties.
NFP’s Youth Wing President had also alleged that this government MP told him to “watch out” stating their offices were in the same building and then he repeatedly called him and his colleague “rubbish people” as they walked towards the main entrance to Parliament.
