Residents of Cunningham, Suva will soon see new footpaths being constructed in their area as part of Fiji Roads Authority Renewals Project
FRA Chief Executive Officer John Hutchinson says that Rehoboth Infrastructure Limited has been awarded the contract with the sum of more than $1.3 million.
Hutchinson says Cunningham Road currently lacks footpath and the new footpaths will increase safety and reduce car and pedestrian accidents.
He says the scope of works includes new footpaths, associated kerb and channel, drainage, signage and pedestrian hand rails.
Hutchinson says safety is paramount and the general public is strongly advised to stay alert and stay clear from the construction site.
He says they aim to complete the project by September this year if weather permits.
