The Blues have extended the horror run of archrivals and defending Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific champion, the Crusaders, inflicting their fifth and biggest defeat of their latest campaign, 26-6, at Auckland's Eden Park.

The result extends the Crusaders already record-worst start to a season and represents the Blues' second win over their rivals in the last 20 meetings.

It's been 10 years since the Blues last beat the Crusaders on home turf. AJ Lam and Ofa Tu'ungafasi scored a try each for the Blues, and Stephen Perofeta collected 16 points.

The Crusaders points came from the boots of fly-half Riley Hohepa. Meanwhile, the Western Force stunned the Queensland Reds 40-31 last night, and the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua beat the Waratahs 39-36.

The loss has moved the defending champions to last place in the points table after round 5.
