For the first time in history, Crusaders have a 0-4 start to their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific campaign after a heartbreaking 14-10 loss to the Hurricanes tonight at home.
This will go down as their worst ever start to a season after securing 3 losses earlier to the Chiefs, the Waratahs and the Fijian Drua.
It was an electric game of rugby as both teams showed power and determination for the whole 80 minutes.
The game went into the break with the Hurricanes holding a 7-0 lead after a converted try to prop Tyrrell Lomax in the 13th minute.
The second half was more entertaining as the home team pushed a bit more harder and scored a converted try through Cullen Grace in the 53rd minute before flyhalf Riley Hohepa converted a penalty in the 70th minute to give the home side a 10-7 lead for the first time in the game.
The injection of experienced halfback and former All Black TJ Perenara into the game by the Hurricanes in the final 9 minutes of the game made the difference.
Hurricanes' substitute lock Justin Sangster stole the game for the visitors scoring the winning try in the 79th minute with flyhalf Brett Cameron converting it.
Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will take on the Chiefs at 6.30pm tomorrow in Hamilton.
