Crusaders captain Scott Barrett is among reinforcements sent to Australia for their match against the Waratahs on Saturday.
His return from an illness which sidelined him for two weeks is timely, given the Crusaders have sent flanker Ethan Blackadder and hooker Brodie McAlister home.
Barrett, who started all nine Super Rugby Aotearoa games but hasn’t played since the all New Zealand final against the Chiefs, joined the team on Sunday.
The Waratahs will host the Crusaders at 5.05pm Saturday.
In other matches, the Hurricanes will take on the Western Force at 7.05pm Friday, the Blues will face the Brumbies at 7.15pm Saturday, the Chiefs meet the Reds at 9.45pm Saturday while the Highlanders will play the Rebels at 2.35pm Sunday.
