Credit Corporation (Fiji) Pte Limited has handed over a cheque of $5,000 to Fiji Red Cross Society to mark its 30th anniversary.

FRCS National President, Sala Toganivalu-Lesuma says every cent counts, and they are independently funded by donors, and any money that comes through enables them to do the other little things they can not always do.

Toganivalu-Lesuma says their main source of revenue is through a Health, Disaster, Youth, and Safety program, which they have been running.

She says any goodness of the corporate person’s heart is always appreciated, as it goes into unrestricted funding and allows them to do other things.

She adds that un-restricted funding is a pool of funds that supports the Society’s work in areas and activities that may not be donor-funded but are just as important.

Financial Controller of Credit Corporation, Mareta Salacakau says instead of hosting an event for their 30th anniversary, they thought it would be best to donate to charitable organizations that were most deserving and had a very good reputation.

Credit Corporation says five other organizations have received the kind donations from them.
