Creating and enabling an innovative environment and empowering youths to think creatively and taking risks can propel the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and people's dreams into reality.
This has been highlighted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs, Manoa Kamikamica during the opening of the MSME conference at the Grand Pacific Hotel today.
Kamikamica says MSMEs help to spur the country’s recovery by stimulating economic activity by providing jobs, income generation, and innovation. He says the theme for the conference “Innovation Waves: Sailing MSMEs to Success” not only acknowledges the MSMEs but equally provides an opportunity for businesses and entrepreneurs to voice their concerns, build connections and create opportunities. Kamikamica says MSMEs are important and open to new ideas that keep businesses and entrepreneurs competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
The Dpeuty Prime Minister also says that passion, collaboration, continuous learning, and a willingness to challenge the status are essential components of an innovative culture.
Kamikamica also reiterates that the Ministry remains committed to the growth of the MSME industry and over the past months has made great strides in working with consultants on the development of an MSME Act, formulating an alternative option for access to funding, that is, the Access to Capital Bill. More than 200 participants, including businesses and entrepreneurs from all divisions and maritime areas, gathered for the conference.
