North Queensland Cowboys Recruitment Manager Dane Campbell says Olympic gold medalist Iosefo Masi is a very skillful player who could handle playing any position in the back five.

Masi and fellow 7s star Taniela Sadrugu will join the Cowboys for the 2022 NRL season.

They will join on Train and Replacement contracts which allows them to train alongside the Cowboys NRL squad.

Following the pre-season both players will be allocated to one of the Cowboys’ three feeder clubs in the Queensland Cup.

Campbell says Masi has shown a high-level of athleticism and is defensively willing which will transfer well into rugby league.

He says Sadrugu is a very tough competitor who enjoys collision and will be trained as a middle and edge forward.

Campbell adds they are looking forward to seeing Sadrugu transition and develop his game at the Cowboys.

Meanwhile in the NRL Preliminary Finals this week, the Rabbitohs will meet the Sea Eagles at 9.50pm Friday while the Storm face the Panthers at 6.00pm Saturday.
