Fiji Corrections Service has also signed MOU’s with the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma and the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

The Fiji Corrections Service has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Assemblies of God Church Fiji for their rehabilitation efforts.

The agreement will aim to recognise and channel the efforts of the church alongside the rehabilitation strategies of the Corrections Service to help restore lives of members of their congregation currently under the care of the Corrections Service in a proactive and professional manner.

Corrections Commissioner Commander Francis Kean says the church plays an important role in the process of rehabilitation and behavioural change.

Kean says it has a special way of counselling without heavy reprimand and this helps the inmates to see the need to change from their wayward ways and become better members of society.

Fiji Corrections Service has also signed MOU’s with the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma and the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
