Uruguay has defeated host USA 1-0 to qualify for the Copa America quarter finals this afternoon.
Uruguay’s defender Mathias Olivera scored the lone goal of the match after he pounced on a rebound from a free-kick save by USA goalkeeper Matt Turner.
The play was reviewed by VAR for offsides but was later confirmed as a goal.
Uruguay will be playing in the last quarter final at 1pm with their opponent yet to be confirmed.
In other matches today, Panama defeated Bolivia 3-1.
Meanwhile, in other quarter finals confirmed, Argentina will play Ecuador at 1pm Friday, Venezuela will take on Canada at 1pm Saturday and Panama will play in the 3rd quarter final at 10am Sunday with their opponent still yet to also be confirmed.
