Police have charged the officer who was driving the police vehicle that allegedly hit a boy along Dunstan Street in Nausori Town on Saturday afternoon.
He has been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and one count of failing to a obey road sign.
The boy sustained serious injuries in the accident.
He is recovering well.
