Former Wallabies star Quade Cooper has confirmed he is open to joining an NRL club on a short-term contract if the competition resumes on the 28th of May as announced last week.
It was revealed earlier this week that a number of NRL clubs are considering approaching stars from outside the competition on bargain deals for the remainder of the season, while other sporting codes and competitions remain on hold due to COVID-19.
The list of players includes Cooper, Israel Folau, and Sonny Bill Williams.
32-year old Cooper remains contracted to Japanese rugby franchise Kintetsu Liners but has been back in Brisbane since January and can’t leave Australia due to the lockdown.
He’s been seen training at Red Hill with Brisbane Broncos star Tevita Pangai Jr.
