Cook Islands Prime Minister Henry Puna has been officially installed as the 23rd Chancellor of the University of the South Pacific.
Puna was installed at the USP graduation today and will serve in the role for one year.
The Chancellor is the head of USP and confers the qualifications of the University.
The outgoing Chancellor is the President of Vanuatu, Womtelo Reverend Baldwin Lonsdale who served a one‑year term.
The Chancellor of the University is appointed from USP’s 12 member countries in alphabetical rotation.
926 students graduated today and 64% were female graduates.
