Patients admitted at the Navua Hospital have again raised concerns as the water and power outage continues, and they are calling for help as they believe that no one cares for them and they are left to suffer.
Their concern were raised to fijivillage News yesterday while they were experiencing water and electricity issues for more than 20 hours.
A concerned patient also says that the doctors and nurses have been finding it hard to handle their work when they were given solar lamps to carry out their work while attending to a patient in the middle of the night as the backup generator only supplies power to the emergency and maternity unit.
When fijivillage News contacted Permanent Secretary for Health, Dr James Fong, he said there was a power outage in the Navua area and it was expected to be restored at 6pm yesterday. We also asked Dr Fong if there is a backup generator at the hospital.
He says it's operational but does not supply power to the water system in place.
