The Consumer Council of Fiji has written to the Communications Ministry about the complaints it has received from the customers of Pacific Broadcasting Services or PBS.
Chief Executive Officer Premila Kumar said that more than 300 people lodged their complaints with the Council about the alleged poor service of PBS and the Council has had talks with the Ministry for guidance on the matter.
Meanwhile, the Commerce Commission will investigate the alleged poor services and the closure of Pacific Broadcasting Services or PBS office once it receives enough complaints from the people.
Chairman Doctor Mahendra Reddy said PBS customers can lodge their complaints with the Commission if they want the Commission to look into the issue.
The Chief Executive Officer of Ba Provincial Holdings Company Limited, Isimeli Bose who confirmed that Ba Holdings is a shareholder of PBS referred all the questions to PBS Chief Executive Officer, Simon Fong. Several phone calls made to Fong remain unanswered.
The PBS office is closed with no executives or staff at work to explain why many of their Pay TV channels is out of service although they have received money from customers.
Premila Kumar said that PBS even stopped taking any payments from its customers from last Friday and many of the PBS customers who paid for the whole year do not know what to do now.
According to Kumar, there are 5,000 active PBS TV subscribers.
