Construction work on the Public Rental Board housing flats in Raiwai has recommenced.
Fijivillage visited the site and saw that work has started again.
Earlier this year, Housing Authority chairperson Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga said the Chinese government gave a $9 million grant to complete the funding of the $18 million project as initially the flats were budgeted for $9 million, however, it was not enough.
Tikoitoga said they have sorted all the issues and they have signed a new contract with China Railway Group
Construction works had stopped after the costs had exceeded their $9 million budget.
The building will have one and two bedroom type flats.
The maximum occupancy for the one bedroom flat is 4 and 8 for the two bedroom flats.
