Good news for people travelling along Queens Highway as work on a new Japanese Government funded Tamavua-i-Wai Bridge will begin soon and Japanese Ambassador Rokuichiro Michii says the project is expected to be completed in less than 5 years.
Michii says the basic agreement has been signed but they are about to sign another agreement to add some more funding.
He says the bridge will probably alleviate the traffic congestion which starts from Suva to the other side of the island.
The Ambassador says the bridge also has a unique design and is disaster resilient.
Meanwhile, the old bridge which is not being used anymore has been dismantled.
Michii they will soon go through the bidding process for the construction.
