The construction of the tallest building in Fiji and the South Pacific is expected to start in the heart of Suva early next year.

The 30 level tower, Grand Fijian Suva will be housing apartments, Hotel and Spa which will be located on the corner of Forster and Pratt Street.

While launching the multi storey building project in Suva last night, Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama revealed that the Sharma Design Group through their subsidiary Frontier Investments plans to erect the 30 level structure.

An estimated 110 million dollar project, Grand Fijian will comprise of a car park, gymnasium, restaurants, coffee shops, conference room, spa, 60 suite hotel and 77 apartment units.

Bainimarama highlighted that 350 new jobs will be created during the construction phase and at least 150 when the building is completed.

He said this project is a vote of confidence in Fiji, by Fijians, and a testament to the general confidence that his Government has instilled in the business community with their reform program over the past eight years.

Grand Fijian will be designed by Sharma Architects who will also do the interior design.

Construction work is expected to start in March next year and the building is expected to be completed by November 2016.

Three major banks, Westpac, ANZ and Bred Bank are all offering special packages to the investors in the development of Grand Fijian.
