The construction of a five storey hotel in the heart of Suva is expected to start soon.
Owner Paul Jaduram confirmed James Cook Hotel at Gordon Street will have 40 rooms and will create employment for 22 staff.
He said there is a need for more hotel rooms in Suva.
Jaduram, who is a Labasa businessman, added his total investment is around $3.5 million as the plans of the hotel are with the Suva City Council.
The hotel may take 10 months to complete.
