Concerns have been raised by some of the teachers in Kalabu Secondary School over the security of their jobs.
The issue was raised during the FijiFirst Party campaign meeting in Kalabu.
It is alleged that one of the female teachers in Kalabu Secondary has been suspended by the Ministry of Education for three months without pay after the Ministry received a report regarding a teacher slapping her daughter which was later reported to the police.
FijiFirst Party Leader Voreqe Bainimarama said the Education Ministry should review their decision to suspend the teacher and harsh penalties should only be given to those that commit serious offences.
Permanent Secretary for Education Dr Brij Lal said he is not aware of the issue.
Doctor Lal has also advised teachers that there are certain rules to follow and they should not take the law into their own hands.
