Competition is stiff in the Fiji Airways Men's National 7s squad as the 16 players that left for the Commonwealth Games will fight for a spot in the final 13.
Coach Ben Gollings says it is a competitive squad and it will difficult for him to select the 13 players.
He says preparations have been going well.
Meanwhile, five players in the Fiji 7s squad were part of team that settled for silver in the 2018 Games.
They are Jerry Tuwai, Josua Vakurinabili, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Semi Kunatani and Paula Dranisinukula.
Fiji is in Pool C with Canada, Wales and Zambia.
Defending champions New Zealand is in Pool A with England, Samoa and Sri Lanka while South Africa, Scotland, Tonga and Malaysia are in Pool B.
Pool D has Australia, Kenya, Uganda and Jamaica.
The 7s competition will take place from 29th July to 1st August.
