Communications Fiji Limited, the parent company of Legend FM, FM96, Radio Sargam, Viti FM and Navtarang today announced a group after tax profit of $1,515,009.
Chairman Matt Wilson said while this was a decline from the record result in 2012, it was still the second highest profit in the company’s history.
Wilson said the reduction results largely from a decrease in earnings in the Papua New Guinean subsidiary PNG FM Limited.
He said PNG was affected by a number of issues.
These include the winding down of the construction phase of the Liquified Natural Gas project, lower commodity prices and a slump in the value of the Kina.
CFL’s Managing Director William Parkinson said he is happy with the results.
Parkinson said for Fiji, 2014 should be a challenging year for CFL yet a big year for PNG to look forward too.
