Deputy Commander of the RFMF and former Suva Rugby Union President Commodore Humphrey Tawake has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Fiji Rugby Union Board.
He was nominated to the Fiji Rugby Board by the Prime Minister and FRU President Voreqe Bainimarama.
The term of former FRU Board Chairman Conway Beg expired after the Annual General Meeting which was held on the 20th of November this year.
Between 1993 to 1995, Commodore Tawake was appointed Manager for the Fiji Navy Rugby Team and Manager for the RFMF Sukuna Bowl team.
He was appointed Manager for RFMF Rugby Team Defence Force that played for the World Cup in Japan in 2013.
Commodore Tawake was Chairman of the Suva Rugby Union ins 2014.
He was also the manager of the Flying Fijians for the Rugby World Cup in England in 2015.
Commodore Tawake was appointed President of the Suva Rugby Union.
He is a current member of the FRU Council.
